About

Chris Clowers is an empathetic, passionate, and classically trained character actor.

Chris grew up going back and forth between two homes in Milwaukee, WI and Door County, WI.

From an early age he trained in classical theatre, comedy improv, and stage combat. He trained and performed professionally at Milwaukee’s First Stage Children’s Theatre Company and acted in many school plays establishing his love of acting.

Chris holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and had the privilege of studying theatre abroad in Grantham, England focusing on contemporary British playwrights and Shakespeare, and in Tokyo, Japan, where he studied Japanese Theatre History, trained in Butoh Dance and Zen Meditation. His movement training at Catawba College was rooted in the Alexander Technique and yoga, which he still practices today.

After college, Chris moved to Los Angeles, CA to begin his acting career.  He first performed with The Antaeus Theatre Company in the critically acclaimed Peace in Our Time, then starred in the West Coast Premier of Battle Drum at The Sierra Madre Playhouse, and preformed improv at The Upright Citizens Brigade.  

A big highlight for Chris during his time in LA was playing the beatboxing-robot character, Dubstep, on MyMusic, a multi-platform sitcom for YouTube. Chris was in all 58 episodes of the show’s 2 seasons. MyMusic is still available to watch on Youtube.

Currently residing in Chicago, Chris is represented by Actors Talent Group. He continues to bring his physicality and imagination as a versatile character actor to set at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, and on stage at The Artistic Home storefront theatre, where he also trained in the Meisner Technique. Beyond acting he has pursued an artistic life through photography, digital oil painting and video editing.
